Valley Plating has been a staple in the Green Bay manufacturing community for more than four decades. The business was originally started by the current owner’s father and has proudly remained a family-run operation ever since. Five years ago, the next generation took the reins and continues the tradition of quality, speed, and customer-first service.
We specialize in just one thing — black oxide — and we take pride in doing it better than anyone else. This process involves dunking metal parts into a chemical solution that reacts with the surface, turning it a sleek black color. It adds just five millionths of an inch — about as thin as it gets — so it doesn’t interfere with part dimensions.
Our tanks are among the largest in the area, measuring 48″ x 48″ x 80″, allowing us to handle oversized parts like 165-inch bars with ease. But that doesn’t mean we won’t take on smaller jobs — we’re just as happy black oxiding a handful of screws as we are an entire machine’s worth of components.
At Valley Plating, you’re working with people who know your name, remember your projects, and always pick up the phone. We like it when customers stop in to say hi, even if it’s just to check on a job. It’s that personal connection — along with our consistency and speed — that keeps clients coming back.
Valley Plating has been proudly family-owned and operated for more than four decades. Originally founded by the current owner’s father, the business has stayed true to its roots — focused, hardworking, and committed to delivering top-quality black oxide results. With the second generation now leading the way, we continue to build on that legacy, serving manufacturers and machine shops with the same values we started with: honesty, quality, and consistency.
One of the things that sets us apart is our approachable, small-team atmosphere. We love it when customers stop by the shop — whether it’s to drop off parts, check in on a project, or just say hello. We believe great service goes beyond turnaround time — it’s about building relationships and being available when you need us. If you’re in the area, swing by. We’re always glad to see a familiar face or meet someone new.
